The Dreyfoos School of the Arts is ranked 9th in Florida and 68th in the nation in the U.S. News & World Report's list of America's Best High Schools. The Dreyfoos Theatre Department offers a BFA-style program to talented high school students interested in pursuing theatre at the college level and beyond. Graduates have gone on to successful careers in theatre and film performance as well as directing, casting, arts administration, and technical theatre.

Bruce Linser taught musical theatre performance and audition techniques at Dreyfoos School of the Arts for six years and was Dean of Theatre for three years. He was instrumental in shaping the musical theatre program as well as the entire theatre curriculum. He also served as a director, musical director, and producing artistic director for the program. One of his favorite experiences was directing their production of Metamorphoses in 2012. He was nominated by his fellow faculty for the Dwyer Excellence in Education Award in 2014 and by his students for the Tony Award for Excellence in Theatre Education in 2015.
